New dynamic pressure sensor system combines static and dynamic pressure data for more advanced inspection
TOKYO, September 7, 2026 — FUJIFILM Corporation has launched FUJIFILM Prescale Motion, a dynamic surface pressure sensor system designed to visualize in real time how pressure is applied from the beginning to the end of a pressurization process.
The product is available in Japan from September 7, 2026. Fujifilm says the system is designed to support pressure inspection in development and manufacturing by combining dynamic pressure data with static pressure data.
FROM STATIC MEASUREMENT TO DYNAMIC INSPECTION
Fujifilm’s existing Prescale pressure measurement film and Prescale Mobile application can visualize and quantify pressure at the point of maximum pressure. Prescale Motion adds the ability to visualize changes in pressure during the pressurization process in real time.
This allows manufacturers to examine not only where pressure is distributed at maximum pressure, but also how that pressure changes over time. The system combines a dedicated pressure-distribution sensor and controller with a mobile device running Prescale Mobile.
For manufacturing industries where process consistency and traceability are increasingly important, this additional dynamic information could provide greater visibility into pressure-related variations.
APPLICATIONS IN SEMICONDUCTORS AND BATTERIES
Fujifilm highlights the semiconductor, electronic-component and battery industries as areas where dynamic pressure measurement can be particularly useful.
In semiconductor wafer polishing, pressure conditions between the polishing head and wafer can change during the process. Prescale Motion is designed to measure and record these changes from the start through completion of polishing.
The technology also has applications in lithium-ion battery manufacturing and evaluation. Batteries expand and contract during charging and discharging, and measuring the resulting pressure changes can support quality-control and safety-evaluation activities.
CONNECTED PRESSURE DATA
A key feature of Prescale Motion is its ability to combine dynamic measurements with static pressure data generated through Prescale and Prescale Mobile.
Fujifilm states that the system can measure, display, store, replay and export dynamic pressure-distribution data, while also allowing comparison and analysis alongside Prescale Mobile data.
The system uses wireless Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connectivity between the pressure-distribution sensor and mobile device, providing flexibility during measurement.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Prescale Motion is offered with dedicated films in 80 mm-square and 200 mm-square formats. The recommended pressure measurement range is 0.5 MPa to 2.5 MPa, with sensitivity adjustment available.
Its controller captures 1,024 measurement points in a 32 × 32 grid and operates at an approximately 30 Hz sampling frequency. The system uses a built-in battery and supports iOS.
Fujifilm describes Prescale Motion as the world’s first pressure-distribution sensor system capable of integrated analysis of static and dynamic pressure data, adding that this claim is based on its own research.
A STEP TOWARD DIGITAL MANUFACTURING
The launch reflects a broader movement toward more data-driven inspection on the manufacturing floor. Instead of relying only on a final measurement, manufacturers can increasingly capture information about what happens during a process.
For industries such as semiconductors, electronics and batteries, where precision and repeatability are critical, dynamic pressure information can provide another layer of process visibility.
Fujifilm says it aims to use its technologies to support high-precision and efficient inspection workflows, promote operational digitisation and contribute to improved inspection efficiency and quality control at manufacturing sites.
