Bharat Bijlee Ltd has announced the appointment of Khushru Vakharia as Vice President – Magnet Technology Machines (MTM) Division. He succeeds R. Rajaraman, who has retired from the company.

Vakharia brings more than 35 years of industry experience, including a long association with Bharat Bijlee across manufacturing, strategic planning, procurement, plant engineering, quality, supply chain and marketing functions.

During his career with the company, he has been involved in initiatives focused on manufacturing modernisation, operational efficiency, cost optimisation and process improvement. His experience across multiple functions is expected to support the MTM division as it enters its next phase of development.

The MTM division is an important part of Bharat Bijlee’s Industrial Systems business, with a focus on permanent magnet technology and gearless elevator machines. Its GreenStar® range serves the growing demand for energy-efficient elevator solutions in India and international markets.

The leadership transition comes at a time when industries are placing greater emphasis on energy efficiency, advanced motor technologies and sustainable industrial solutions. Permanent magnet-based systems are gaining relevance in applications where improved efficiency, compact design and reduced energy consumption are increasingly important.

Vakharia’s appointment therefore represents more than a routine leadership transition. His combination of manufacturing knowledge and cross-functional experience could help Bharat Bijlee strengthen execution, accelerate operational improvements and explore new opportunities within the evolving industrial technology landscape.

For Bharat Bijlee, the move also reflects the value of experienced internal leadership in maintaining continuity while preparing specialised businesses for future growth.
