Toyota Kirloskar Motor has introduced the 2026 Fortuner Leader Edition in India, adding exterior styling enhancements, cabin updates and convenience features to its premium SUV lineup. The special edition is priced from ₹36.51 lakh (ex-showroom) and retains the existing powertrain and two-wheel-drive configuration.
The Fortuner Leader Edition is available in two variants: the 4×2 manual, priced at ₹36.51 lakh, and the 4×2 automatic, priced at ₹38.72 lakh. Toyota announced the model on October 9, 2026, with bookings scheduled to open on October 12 through its official website and dealerships.
The exterior updates give the SUV a distinctive black-themed appearance. These include a redesigned front grille, gloss-black alloy wheels with matching hub caps, a black roof treatment, black rear door garnish, body-side mouldings and a black-finished antenna. An exclusive bonnet emblem further distinguishes the edition from the standard Fortuner.
Inside, the SUV features dual-tone black and maroon seat upholstery, matching door trims, ambient lighting and illuminated scuff plates. Additional equipment includes auto-folding outside rear-view mirrors and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
The Leader Edition retains Toyota’s 2.8-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine paired with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The automatic version delivers 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque, while the manual produces 420 Nm of torque. No mechanical upgrades have been announced, and the edition is offered exclusively with a 4×2 drivetrain.
Buyers can choose from three exterior colours: Super White, Platinum White Pearl and Attitude Black. The Silver Metallic option available on earlier Leader Editions has been dropped.
The launch also marks a change in how the edition is offered. Earlier Fortuner Leader Editions were available through dealer-level offerings, whereas the 2026 version has been introduced directly by Toyota Kirloskar Motor.
The update follows a product strategy focused on refreshing an established SUV through design differentiation and additional equipment rather than a major mechanical revision. For buyers, the main considerations are the updated styling, cabin features and price difference between the manual and automatic variants.
With the 2026 Fortuner Leader Edition, Toyota continues to broaden the choice available within its premium SUV range while retaining the established engine and drivetrain package.
