Intel has raised $20 billion through an upsized common-stock offering, giving the semiconductor giant additional financial capacity as it accelerates efforts to rebuild its manufacturing and contract chipmaking business. The offering was increased from an earlier target of $15 billion, reflecting strong investor demand amid a sharp recovery in Intel’s share price.
Intel priced the offering at $95 per share, with 210.5 million shares sold. The company also granted underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 31.6 million shares at the same price. The transaction is expected to close on August 12, subject to customary conditions.
