BYD India has expanded its premium electric SUV lineup with the launch of the SEALION 7 Dynamic, introducing a lower-priced variant of the model at an introductory ₹41.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Dynamic variant is positioned as the entry point to the SEALION 7 range, below the Premium and Performance variants. With the new version, BYD is seeking to make its premium electric SUV more accessible to buyers while retaining the model’s core electric powertrain and technology-focused positioning.
The SEALION 7 Dynamic is equipped with a 71.8 kWh battery pack and has a claimed 520 km range under the NEDC testing cycle. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. The higher-specification Premium and Performance variants use an 82.56 kWh battery pack.
The Dynamic variant also carries several of the SEALION 7’s key technology and convenience features. These include a 15.6-inch rotating infotainment display, digital instrumentation, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control and driver-assistance technologies. BYD also offers a panoramic glass roof on the Dynamic variant.
Pricing gives the new variant a clear position within the range. The SEALION 7 Dynamic starts at ₹41.90 lakh, while the Premium and Performance variants are priced at ₹49.40 lakh and ₹54.90 lakh, respectively, all ex-showroom.
The launch comes as India’s premium electric vehicle market becomes increasingly competitive. Automakers are expanding their EV portfolios across different price points, while buyers are paying greater attention to range, technology, performance and charging infrastructure.
For BYD, the Dynamic variant provides a way to broaden the SEALION 7’s appeal without changing the model itself. The combination of a 71.8 kWh battery, claimed 520 km NEDC range and 7.3-second 0–100 km/h acceleration gives the entry-level version a distinct proposition within the lineup.
The SEALION 7 Dynamic therefore represents more than a new variant for BYD India. It reflects the company’s effort to strengthen its presence in the country’s premium EV segment by offering buyers a lower entry point into its electric SUV portfolio.
At ₹41.90 lakh, the SEALION 7 Dynamic brings BYD’s premium electric SUV proposition to a wider price band while retaining a strong focus on range, technology and performance.
