Gabriel India Ltd. has entered into a joint venture with South Korea-based HL Klemove to expand into autonomous driving, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and automotive electronics.
Gabriel India, the flagship company of the ANAND Group, will acquire a 30% less one share stake in HL Klemove India Pvt. Ltd. for US$98.44 million, approximately ₹935 crore, according to the company’s disclosures. HL Klemove will retain the remaining 70% plus one share.
The partnership will focus on the development, manufacturing and sale of advanced mobility solutions in India. The proposed product portfolio includes radar systems, front cameras, LiDAR, automated-driving and parking-control units with embedded ADAS software.
The joint venture will also cover automotive electronic systems such as brake electronic control units (ECUs), steering ECUs, chassis-control units and torque sensors.
Expanding Gabriel India’s Technology Portfolio
The partnership gives Gabriel India an entry into technology-intensive automotive segments beyond its existing component portfolio. The company has identified autonomous driving, ADAS and automotive electronics as areas for expanding its participation in emerging mobility technologies.
HL Klemove brings expertise in autonomous-driving technologies and automotive electronics, while Gabriel India contributes its established presence in India’s automotive component ecosystem.
The transaction involves Gabriel India purchasing 37,844,999 equity shares of HL Klemove India from HL Klemove Corporation. The regulatory filing states that the acquisition will make HL Klemove India an associate company of Gabriel India.
Focus on ADAS and Automotive Electronics
The proposed product range covers several key technologies supporting increasingly automated and electronically enabled vehicles.
Radar and camera systems can provide vehicle-sensing capabilities, while LiDAR and automated-driving systems form part of the technology stack for advanced vehicle functions. The portfolio also includes electronic control systems for braking, steering and chassis functions.
The companies will therefore operate across both vehicle perception technologies and electronic control systems, reflecting the growing role of electronics and software in modern automobiles.
A New Mobility Technology Partnership
The transaction is part of Gabriel India’s broader move to expand its automotive technology portfolio. The company has also announced a separate investment involving HL Mando Anand India, taking its total announced investments in the two transactions to more than ₹3,165 crore.
For the HL Klemove partnership specifically, the focus is on autonomous driving solutions, ADAS and automotive electronics.
The proposed shareholding structure gives HL Klemove 70% plus one share, while Gabriel India will hold 30% less one share. The joint venture is intended to combine HL Klemove’s technology capabilities with Gabriel India’s presence in the Indian automotive market.
The Gabriel India–HL Klemove partnership highlights the increasing importance of ADAS, autonomous driving and automotive electronics within India’s evolving automotive industry.
As vehicles incorporate more sensors, electronic control systems and software-driven functions, advanced automotive technologies are becoming an increasingly important part of the component ecosystem.
For Gabriel India, the partnership represents an expansion into these emerging segments, while for HL Klemove it provides a stronger platform for developing and manufacturing advanced mobility solutions in India.
