Toshiba Electronics Devices & Storage Corporation has expanded its digital isolator portfolio with new quad-channel devices designed to support the growing demand for reliable signal isolation in industrial electronics.

Digital isolators play a critical role in modern industrial systems by transferring digital signals between circuits while maintaining electrical isolation. This helps protect sensitive control electronics from high voltages, electrical noise and potential ground differences—requirements that are becoming increasingly important as factories adopt automation, connected equipment and sophisticated power-management systems.

The new devices are part of Toshiba’s DCL34xx0B series of standard digital isolators. The expanded lineup is aimed at industrial applications where designers need a combination of isolation performance, low power consumption and reliable operation across demanding temperature conditions.

According to Toshiba, the new quad-channel isolators offer low current consumption of approximately 0.2 mA per channel and a minimum isolation voltage of 3,000 Vrms. They are specified for operation from -40°C to 125°C, making them suitable for a wide range of industrial environments.

The addition comes at a time when digital isolation is becoming increasingly relevant across motor drives, industrial automation equipment, programmable controllers, power supplies and other factory-floor systems. As industrial equipment becomes more connected, manufacturers need semiconductor components that can maintain dependable communication between different voltage domains without compromising system safety or efficiency.
