Mahindra Last Mile Mobility has been named one of 15 global finalists for The Earthshot Prize 2026, recognising its work in scaling electric last-mile transportation in India.
The company has been selected under the “Clean Our Air” category for its electric three-wheelers and small commercial vehicles. It is the only Indian automotive company among this year’s 15 finalists.
4 Lakh Electric Vehicles on the Road
Mahindra Last Mile Mobility has sold more than 4 lakh electric vehicles, which have collectively travelled more than 9 billion kilometres. According to the company, these vehicles have helped avoid approximately 185,000 metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
The company’s electric portfolio includes vehicles serving both passenger and cargo last-mile applications. Mahindra says the transition is also linked to the livelihoods of drivers, shopkeepers, delivery partners and small businesses that depend on these vehicles as working assets.
Focus on Cleaner Last-Mile Mobility
The Earthshot Prize highlights Mahindra’s approach to making electric three-wheelers more accessible while supporting the infrastructure and services needed for wider adoption. The company’s ecosystem includes sales and service outlets, financing partnerships and access to public charging infrastructure.
Mahindra also runs UDAY NXT, a customer-support initiative that includes benefits such as driver accidental insurance and financial counselling.
The Earthshot Prize selected 15 finalists across five categories in 2026. The five winners will each receive £1 million to help scale their solutions. The winners will be announced at the Earthshot Prize Awards in Mumbai on November 17, 2026. For Mahindra Last Mile Mobility, the recognition puts India’s growing electric three-wheeler ecosystem in the spotlight while highlighting the connection between cleaner transportation, technology and livelihoods.
